Seminario Evangelico Metodista de Costa Rica / www.SEMCR.org
![]() A combination of events and circumstances has made it necessary to indefinitely postpone our expected return to Costa Rica. While Ross and Beth are still planning several trips down this year, it appears that we will not be moving back permanently as a family -- at least not this year. Our term in Costa Rica will not officially end until June, by which time we hope to have a clear direction from the Lord as to what our next step will be. Please pray for us, and also please feel free to contact us in San Antonio at 210/824-9319. QUICK CLICKS: Our 2006 Sabbatical in San Antonio Our Mission: To assist the Evangelical Methodist Church of Costa Rica in making disciples of Jesus Christ through our ministry of teaching and disciplemaking among seminary students, pastors and their families, and among the laity of the local Methodist churches. Rev. Ross Taylor and his family were missionaries to Costa Rica from January 1999 to June 2007 where he taught and discipled seminary students as a professor at the Evangelical Methodist Seminary in San Jose. Ross and Beth have four children ages three to thirteen, and served in Costa Rica with the United Methodist Church. Ross is a graduate of Asbury Theological Seminary (Wilmore, KY) and taught courses in Hermeneutics, Old and New Testament, Christian Education, Liturgy & Worship, Discipleship, and Inductive Bible Study. The Taylors were in Costa Rica at the invitation of Costa Rican Methodist Bishop Luis Fernando Palomo and Ross served under the appointment of United Methodist Bishop Joel Martinez. The Taylors received no salary from the Seminary, nor funds from the General Board of Global Ministries (the Methodist mission board); but as faith-based missionaries their financial support came entirely from the donations of churches and individuals who shared the Taylor's vision for discipleship through theological education. A sincere thank you to all of you who faithfully supported us financially through eight years of ministry. We were continually blessed and humbled by God's provision through you. As our 2006 sabbatical in the States has drawn to a close, a series of events and circumstances have made it clear that we are unable to return to Costa Rica at this time. In our latest newsletter, we had indicated that we were beginning the process of re-raising our missionary financial support and had asked you to pray about becoming a regular supporter of this ministry. However, at this time, we want to be clear that we will not be able to return to ministry at the Seminary anytime in the near future. We are presently considering whether we may return to Costa Rica in another capacity, whether we may return to the mission field in another country, or whether we may need to remain in the States for now. We know that, whatever we decide, we will face significant expenses related to relocation. You are invited to click through the various links in the left margin of this page to learn more about us, the Seminary, and what our ministry was in Costa Rica. Donations toward our relocation expenses may still be sent to the address given below. Please designate your gift to "Ross Taylor Ministries". We are a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization and our mission agency will acknowledge your gift with a tax-deductible receipt. Ross Taylor Ministries c/o Your Missionary Outreach P.O.
